Tap the + button, pick or add the facility and the broker, then tap Arrived when you pull in. The phone's GPS stamps the time and place. Add the load number, rate con number, BOL number and appointment time so the invoice matches the rate con, tap Notify broker before free time ends (we email the broker, and the invoice shows when it went out), and tap Departed when you leave. With Pro and Auto-detect arrival on, your phone reminds you when you pull in and when you leave.
It's a Pro feature you turn on in Profile → Auto-detect arrival. Pick the facility for your next stop on Log Stop and your phone watches one zone reaching about 700 ft from the facility's pin. When your truck enters it, you get a reminder to tap Arrived; when it leaves, a reminder to tap Departed. Nothing is logged until you tap, and the GPS stamp on your invoice is taken at that tap. It needs location set to Always (iPhone) or Allow all the time (Android) and notifications on, and you can switch it off in Profile any time. Auto-detect does no route tracking: for it, the phone watches only that one zone. Pick the facility when you head to the stop; if the app is restarted before you get there, pick it again. The leaving reminder comes after you've tapped Arrived.
With Pro, if you saved the appointment time in the load details, the app reminds you 30 minutes before it and at appointment time. Once you tap Arrived, a notification counts the free time in your profile from that tap (on Android it counts up live), an alert comes when that free time runs out, and a running total updates each hour after that, up to 8 billable hours (for example 5 hours at the dock, 2 free: 3 billable hours, $225 at $75/hr). The timer goes by your Arrived tap, not the appointment time. Tap Departed and you get a summary of what to bill. Switch them off in Profile if you don't want them.
Yes, with Pro. On the stop, under the proof photos, add the day's PDF export from your ELD app or a screenshot (on iPhone, save the screenshot to Files first; PDF, JPG, PNG or HEIC, up to 20 MB). Any ELD brand works, and the invoice lists it as "ELD log". It backs up the GPS times; the app doesn't connect to your ELD.
Profile → Set Your Rate: your hourly rate and your free wait time in hours. They apply to every stop, so update them before a load whose rate con says something different.
Open the stop, tap Calculate & Preview, check the amount and the proof, then send. We email the broker one PDF invoice with the GPS-stamped times, a map of the stop, links to your BOL photos and the amount, and replies come straight to you. Sending claims is a Pro feature (pricing); on any plan you can export the PDF and share it yourself.
Yes. Put your carrier where the broker goes when you log the stop. The invoice and the proof go to them. Your lease sets the detention terms, so check it. Owner-operators on their own authority send it to the broker.
Yes. Your GPS-stamped time record and invoice are the proof brokers and factors look for. Ask your factor how they handle detention: some advance only what’s on the rate con, so a revised rate con that includes detention helps. If your broker has your factor’s notice of assignment, the broker pays your factor, not you, so put your factor’s details in Edit Profile → Remit payment to. They print on your invoice.
While the claim is open, Pro emails the broker the Second Notice on day 3, the Third Notice on day 7 and the Fourth Notice on day 14 after sending (your invoice is notice 1), each restating the invoice number, load, BOL number and amount. The Fourth is the last automatic one. The notices go by email, so the claim needs the broker's email address. The claim screen counts every notice sent and shows the date of the next one. Marking the claim paid or denied stops them.
The Fourth Notice on day 14 is the last automatic one, and the claim stays open in My Claims until you mark it paid or denied. GetDockPay does not take further steps for you and cannot guarantee payment. The invoice PDF with the GPS-stamped times, the stop map and links to your BOL photos, plus the date each notice went out, stays with the claim. What the broker receives.
Open it in My Claims and mark it Paid when the money lands, or Denied if the broker refuses. Either one stops the notices. Paid claims feed your tax report and the broker's Pay Score; a denied claim stays in My Claims with its invoice and proof. Common rejection reasons and fixes: detention claim denied.
The Broker Pay Score is the share of detention claims that broker has paid through GetDockPay, with average days to pay and denial rate. The Dock Score is how long drivers actually wait at a facility and how often it runs past free time. Both come from real stops and claims. On the Free plan you see them for the brokers and facilities you work with; Pro adds the full directory to browse and search every rated broker and facility.
No. The app stamps your GPS position when you tap a stop step (Arrived, Dock In, Completed, Departed). While a stop is open and the app is on your screen, it also records where the truck is as it moves, as proof of the stop. It does not record your route between stops. If you turn on Auto-detect arrival (Pro), your phone also watches one zone around the facility you picked, even when the app isn't open on your screen, only to remind you to tap; those zone events stay on your phone. Details are in the privacy policy.
The weekly summary and the tax report under Report are on every plan, and you can export each stop's invoice PDF. If you need a raw export of your data, email us and we'll send it.
Pro is an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it in your phone's subscription settings; you keep Pro until the paid period ends and your data stays on the Free plan. Refunds follow Apple's and Google's policies.
Yes. GetDockPay is on the App Store and Google Play. Everything on this page works on both, with three differences: the dock timer counts up live only on Android, on iPhone an ELD screenshot has to be saved to Files before you attach it, and the feedback offer is Android only.
